Traveling Aviation Superintendent 2

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Traveling Aviation Superintendent 2 to lead field operations, safety, quality, scheduling, and production on moderately complex aviation construction projects. The position reports to the company’s National Aviation Vertical and requires nationwide travel.

Project Details

The superintendent will manage stand-alone aviation projects or major portions of larger projects throughout the United States, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, internal teams, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct site safety, subcontractor coordination, workflow, quality control, and project documentation.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, daily reports, logs, and project tracking records.
• Lead daily and weekly trade meetings and participate in owner, architect, and project review meetings.
• Manage site logistics, materials, equipment, timecard approvals, self-perform activities, and closeout work.
• Identify project risks, support change negotiations, monitor cost and schedule impacts, and recommend solutions.
• Help establish field staffing, recruit talent, and promote a diverse and inclusive jobsite culture.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of construction experience and 3 years of field supervision experience.
• Aviation construction experience and Lean principles experience are preferred.
• Intermediate capability with MS Office, project management and accounting systems, scheduling software, construction technology, and construction means and methods.
• Working knowledge of trades, self-perform productivity, layout, crane flagging, rigging, and project documentation.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license required; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
