Job Summary
Barton Malow is hiring a Traveling Project Engineer to support utility-scale solar and wind construction across Michigan and the Great Lakes Region. The position may be assigned to an active project site or supported through the Southfield or Grandville offices.
Project Details
Projects involve long-term renewable energy assignments, generally lasting 8–12 months, with regular travel throughout the Great Lakes Region.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support, track project issues, and manage project documentation.
- Process submittals and RFIs, support procurement activities, and maintain the project schedule.
- Prepare meeting minutes and assist with site logistics planning.
- Apply corporate safety requirements on the jobsite.
- Review contractor change quotations, process change orders, and coordinate plan approvals with municipalities.
- Communicate project progress and changes with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and internal teams.
Required Experience
- Four-year degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- One to three years of relevant professional experience or applicable construction internship experience.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, independent problem-solving, and commitment to jobsite safety.
