Graduate Engineer, Structural Power

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to support power infrastructure projects. This full-time college opportunity is designed for recent engineering graduates who want to develop technical and project-delivery skills within an employee-owned organization. The selected candidate will work in or relocate to Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Project Details

The role supports structural engineering work for power and critical infrastructure initiatives, including design documentation, engineering studies, equipment and materials evaluations, and constructability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Research engineering equipment and materials and develop recommendations.
• Collect, organize, and manage technical project data.
• Apply applicable engineering codes, design standards, company procedures, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project team members and share technical information as directed.
• Support continuous improvement, technology sharing, and selected business development activities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Basic understanding of engineering design principles, industry practices, applicable standards, and construction or constructability concepts.
• Ability to complete applicable pre-employment screening, which may include background, drug, and motor vehicle records checks.
• Strong learning, problem-solving, written communication, listening, and results-focused skills.
