Job Summary

Barton Malow Company is hiring a Traveling Project Engineer to support utility-scale solar and wind construction projects throughout the Great Lakes Region. The role coordinates onsite engineering activities and communication among project teams, designers, engineers, and owners.

Project Details

Work includes renewable energy projects across the Great Lakes Region, with reporting support from Barton Malow teams in Southfield and Grandville, Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance, track project issues, and manage document control.
  • Process submittals and RFIs, support procurement activities, and maintain the project schedule.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and assist with site logistics planning.
  • Support jobsite safety policy enforcement and review contractor change quotations.
  • Process change orders and coordinate plan reviews with local and state authorities.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • One to three years of relevant professional experience or related construction internship experience.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, independent problem-solving, and commitment to safety.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to project sites throughout the Great Lakes Region.
