Project Engineer I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Project Engineer I to support project coordination and resolve field issues with project teams and participants.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, coordinate permits, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project records.
• Support quality planning, testing, inspections, closeout, schedule tracking, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractor documentation and communicate project updates to customers, architects, and team members.
• Mentor field engineers and help identify alternative work methods.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management.
• At least two years of related construction experience.
• Strong organization, teamwork, communication, initiative, and problem-solving skills; basic knowledge of construction law and business practices.
• Current driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $84,100–$113,500, with higher ranges for certain listed office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
