Safety Manager I or II

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Safety Manager at level I or II to guide safety efforts across multiple construction teams and sites, with potential responsibility for supervising safety staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct implementation of the company safety program and develop site-specific electrical safety plans with project teams.
• Identify training needs and deliver orientations, electrical safety instruction, and train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals, participate in subcontractor meetings, and monitor field activities for hazards.
• Mentor safety personnel, conduct site audits and incident analyses, and oversee safety records, trend reviews, and OSHA reporting.

Required Experience

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in safety or occupational health and at least six years of construction safety experience, including six years in a dedicated safety role; alternatively, a high school diploma, CHST, OSHA 500, and ten years of construction experience leading crews and planning work.
• CSP certification is preferred, and a current driver's license is required.
• Experience managing safety programs, hazard analyses, controls, training, and work planning; proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant safety software.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills; able to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Level I base pay is $100,100-$150,200; Level II base pay is $107,200-$160,800. Ranges vary by certain office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
