Traveling Superintendent Self Perform (AFG)

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) is seeking a traveling Superintendent to support self-perform field operations on large-scale Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects across the country.

AFG combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one team delivering cutting-edge construction for innovative clients. Projects are large and complex, spanning data centers, semiconductor fabs, and industrial manufacturing facilities nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field safety efforts, investigate incidents, and mentor crews toward an injury-free environment.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, self-perform crews, and day-to-day site workflow.
• Develop work plans, manage project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager, and track costs using project management systems.
• Lead daily standups, weekly trade meetings, and participate in OAC progress meetings.
• Oversee QA/QC compliance, material and equipment procurement, and timecard approval.
• Evaluate and adjust self-perform production, manage formwork and tool selection, and support closeout activities.
• Identify and manage project risks; partner with field leadership on staffing and project pre-planning.
• Participate in project pursuits, buyout meetings, and owner/architect negotiations for project changes.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in field supervision.
• Ability to manage complex stand-alone projects from start to finish, including schedule, safety, quality, and production.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management/accounting software, and scheduling software (intermediate level).
• Knowledge of self-perform operations, labor productivity, crane flagging, and rigging.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license required.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with Lean principles preferred.
• Must be willing to travel and work non-traditional hours as project needs dictate.
