Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Millwright Superintendent to lead field supervision, craft productivity, subcontractor coordination, safety, quality, and schedule execution for construction projects. The role may be based in Overland Park or a regional office, with assignments at project sites.

Project Details

Work supports the company's power, water, grid, and industrial construction markets. Office roles generally follow a 40-hour week, while project assignments typically use a 5/10 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Direct general foremen, foremen, subcontractor supervision, and field engineering for assigned work.
• Track construction progress, productivity, costs, installed quantities, and CPM schedule performance.
• Develop three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, work packages, punch lists, and job hazard analyses.
• Coordinate daily and weekly plans, materials, labor, equipment, technical questions, and subcontractor requirements.
• Lead meetings, maintain site records, review time and progress documentation, and support extra-work and commercial recovery processes.
• Partner with the Construction Manager on safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance management.
• Support union labor relations and local agreement compliance when assigned to union projects.

Required Experience

• At least 11 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of construction safety, cost and budget control, schedule management, contracts, productivity systems, and subcontract administration.
• Union labor-management experience, construction management or engineering education, and related training are preferred.
• Ability to supervise personnel and work in active construction environments, including extended shifts, heights, confined areas, heavy labor, and varying weather conditions.
