Abilene OFCI Field Engineer Data Center

Job Summary

Kiewit is hiring a mid-level OFCI Field Engineer to support onsite data center construction in Abilene. The role coordinates owner-furnished, contractor-installed electrical and mechanical equipment from procurement through installation and turnover.

Project Details

The position supports complex industrial data center work through Kiewit's Industrial District and is based onsite in Abilene, Texas following onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Track equipment readiness, deliveries, storage, installation, and turnover activities.
• Coordinate with owners, vendors, subcontractors, and field construction teams.
• Maintain OFCI logs, datasets, manuals, delivery records, and other project documentation.
• Support equipment receipt and inspection while escalating delays, damage, and installation conflicts.
• Assist with commissioning and turnover documentation and provide project updates to leadership.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• At least two years of construction project coordination experience; data center or OFCI experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of construction logistics, vendor coordination, and equipment installation support.
• Proficiency with project tools such as Procore, Primavera, or MS Project.
• Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work safely onsite, travel to project locations, and work extended hours, nights, weekends, and in changing weather conditions.
