Assistant Field Engineer (Hourly)

Job Summary

Holder Construction is seeking a full-time, in-person Assistant Field Engineer to support field operations on a project in Hampton, Georgia. The role combines construction surveying, field layout, documentation, and related engineering support.

Responsibilities

• Operate total stations, transits, auto levels, and other surveying equipment.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, maps, and diagrams.
• Lay out and mark slopes, grades, alignments, elevations, corners, and other construction points.
• Determine field measurements and maintain survey equipment and field records.
• Perform related field and office engineering duties.

Required Experience

• At least two years of construction or surveying experience.
• Strong communication, time management, computer, and standard business software skills.
• Working knowledge of surveying mathematics.
• Ability to work outdoors and on uneven surfaces or at heights, climb ladders and scaffolds, remain mobile for extended periods, and lift 50 to 100 pounds frequently.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends with consistent punctuality.
• Ability to work in an OSHA-compliant environment.
