Assistant Project Manager - Cost Controls

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager focused on cost controls to support projects from estimating through client acceptance, while guiding and developing project team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, financial records, estimates, schedules, scopes, pay applications, and change requests.
• Support project managers with proposals, contracts, subcontract awards, buyout, and trade partner coordination.
• Guide project engineers and field engineers, assign work, coach team members, and support career development.
• Oversee subcontractor budgets and coordination, and step into project manager duties on small projects as needed.
• Support safe, timely delivery and implement quality plans aligned with customer requirements.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of related experience and the ability to support complex projects.
• Current driver’s license; intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, project applications, and relevant web applications.
• Working knowledge of construction law and standard business practices, along with strong organization, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $102,000-$137,700, with higher ranges for select office locations.
