Assistant Project Manager - Data Center

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support data center construction projects involving electrical, controls, instrumentation, and automation work. This entry-level development opportunity offers training for candidates interested in advancing into project management.

Project Details

Support mission-critical data center projects from mobilization through closeout. Assignments may last from six months to three years and require relocation to project sites across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support project leadership, field teams, clients, trade contractors, and vendors.
• Maintain project controls, CPM schedules, milestones, RFIs, submittals, meeting records, and communications.
• Assist with look-ahead planning, estimating takeoffs, budgets, change orders, procurement, expediting, and subcontract coordination.
• Help prepare monthly project reviews and coordinate commissioning, turnover, and closeout documentation.
• Promote the company’s safety culture and help resolve project challenges.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in construction engineering, construction management, engineering technology, or business administration.
• Strong organization, communication, teamwork, presentation, and prioritization skills.
• Interest in learning how complex industrial and mission-critical facilities are delivered; prior electrical, controls, automation, or instrumentation experience is not required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $70,000-$90,000 per year.
