Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Mission Critical team supporting a hyperscale data center project in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The role supports project delivery, financial performance, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.

Project Details

Work will support hyperscale data center construction within the company's Mission Critical group.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small project independently or support a larger project under a Project Manager.
  • Help develop schedules, project plans, scopes of work, and subcontract or purchase order documentation.
  • Negotiate authorized subcontractor, vendor, and owner change orders.
  • Review pay applications, monitor deliveries, and track schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate RFIs and assist with issue resolution involving trade partners, designers, and owners.
  • Prepare status reports, owner billings, financial risk assessments, proposals, and presentations.
  • Support timely project completion and expected profitability.

Required Experience

  • Industry-related college degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to five years of construction project management experience.
  • Data center construction experience is preferred; LEAN principles experience is desirable.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 is preferred, or candidates must be willing to obtain it after hire.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn platforms such as JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, and Asta.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, organization, judgment, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
