Project Engineer - Data Center Construction

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer to support data center construction projects in Houston through document control, project coordination, and field administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain construction drawings, project documents, logs, and records.
• Coordinate requests for information, submittals, inspections, compliance audits, and non-conformance tracking.
• Monitor material and equipment deliveries and support project schedule management.
• Review subcontract and purchase order scope, track change requests, obtain pricing, and prepare change orders within delegated authority.
• Support closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranty information, and final project records.

Required Experience

• Industry-related degree required; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Construction internship or prior project engineering experience is highly preferred.
• Strong initiative, problem-solving, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
