Senior Project Manager - Data Center Construction - (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a data center construction project in Sterling, Virginia as part of its Mission Critical team. This role directs project delivery, financial performance, stakeholder relationships, and team development from preconstruction through completion.

Project Details

The position supports commercial data center construction for a general contractor, with responsibility for a project in Sterling, Virginia. The role is designated as traveling.

Responsibilities

• Direct project teams and coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources, forecasts, billings, and financial reporting.
• Oversee procurement, buyout, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and long-lead items.
• Identify project risks and constructability concerns, implement mitigation plans, and recommend value engineering opportunities.
• Manage quality assurance, quality control, safety planning, contract compliance, and scope execution.
• Communicate project status, resolve issues, and maintain productive client and partner relationships.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project team members while managing performance and assignments.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of construction experience as a Project Manager or in a comparable role.
• Commercial construction experience with a general contractor is required.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring teams.
• An industry-related college degree is required, although equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, or P6 is beneficial.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook is expected.
