Assistant Project Manager - Power Generation (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its traveling Industrial team, with power generation experience preferred. The role supports administrative and field management activities and reports to the Project Manager.

Traveling industrial construction assignments focused on power generation projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage smaller projects independently or support larger projects under Project Manager oversight.
• Assist with schedules, project plans, preconstruction, buyout, subcontracts, scopes of work, and change orders.
• Review pay applications, material deliveries, equipment commitments, contract obligations, and project progress.
• Coordinate RFIs and help resolve issues with subcontractors, vendors, architects, owners, and project team members.
• Prepare project status reports, owner billings, financial risk assessments, proposals, and presentations.
• Support timely, profitable project completion.

Required Experience

• Industry-related college degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to five years of construction project management experience required.
• LEAN principles experience is desirable.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred, or willingness to obtain after hire.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, and Asta.
• Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, organization, judgment, problem-solving, and construction knowledge.
