Job Summary

EPI Power is seeking a Project Engineer to support electrical prefabrication at its Des Moines shop. The role combines engineering and 3D design with hands-on shop-floor execution and production leadership.

Project Details

EPI Power develops electrical construction solutions for fast-track data center projects. This position works onsite in a prefabrication shop and may lead a category such as conduit assemblies, lighting, racks, or underground systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D CAD models, production drawings, diagrams, bills of materials, templates, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Convert coordinated designs into practical, manufacturable assemblies using design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly principles.
  • Prototype assemblies, operate fabrication tools, and refine methods with shop production teams.
  • Improve manufacturing sequencing, shop layout, material flow, throughput, quality, safety, and consistency.
  • Coordinate with VDC, procurement, and production teams on modeling, materials, sourcing, and manufacturing status.
  • Lead an assigned prefabrication category while maintaining design standards, documentation, and efficiency targets.

Required Experience

  • At least three years of experience in electrical construction, prefabrication, mechanical fabrication, or manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with tools in a production or field environment.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and take concepts through design, modeling, prototyping, and manufacturing.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills using Revit, Shapr3D, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar software.
  • Mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and careful attention to detail.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn systems such as Stratus, tool interfaces, and CNC workflows.
