Assistant Project Manager - Primoris Energy Services - North Carolina

Job Summary

Primoris Energy Services is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support mechanical and civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The primarily office-based role includes regular coordination with field teams and project-site visits.

Project Details

Projects involve mechanical systems, piping, process and utility equipment, central plants, underground utilities, and civil sitework. Work may include industrial and heavy commercial construction as well as campus infrastructure across the Southeast.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement, submittals, RFIs, budgets, schedules, forecasts, cost tracking, and project documentation.
• Help identify scope changes and risks, prepare change-order support, and contribute to value engineering and construction planning.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to align plans with field execution.
• Visit jobsites to monitor progress, verify work, support quality and safety, and help resolve issues.
• Assist with project meetings, material expediting, and closeout deliverables.

Required Experience

• Three to eight years of experience in construction, engineering, or project-management support.
• Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of construction processes, especially mechanical systems, piping, utilities, or civil work; ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Experience with submittals, RFIs, procurement, and change management; basic cost-control and scheduling knowledge.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel or temporarily relocate as project needs require and ability to meet client and company safety requirements.
