Assistant Site Manager

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to lead construction execution and startup activities at a project site in Carrollton, Georgia. The role provides site leadership, directs project staff and coordinates with the owner, contractors, suppliers and craft labor.

Project Details

The assignment requires mobilization to the Carrollton site for the duration of the project and includes construction, startup, commissioning and testing activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site management team and coordinate construction, erection, supplier, subcontractor, craft labor, startup and testing activities.
• Maintain the construction execution plan and oversee project safety, quality, schedule, cost and site controls.
• Direct installation work packaging, materials management, commissioning readiness and construction procedures.
• Manage change orders, field purchases, subcontractor payments, staffing, closeout records and contract-related issues.
• Build effective relationships with owners, clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, suppliers and craft labor.
• Mentor site personnel and promote Lean practices, continuous improvement and team development.

Required Experience

• Five or more years of experience on similar projects in a construction management role with a bachelor's degree.
• Alternatively, eight or more years of experience, including three years at superintendent level or above on large projects, without a bachelor's degree.
• Site Manager and union or union-management experience are strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in active construction environments, including outdoor conditions, confined spaces, elevated areas and shifts of up to 12 hours.
