Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and supervise subcontractors and craft teams within assigned construction scopes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee craft labor and subcontractor staffing, timekeeping, training, and performance.
• Coordinate field scope, equipment, materials, schedules, daily work plans, and project closeout.
• Support schedule development, safety audits, worker observations, and quality control.
• Review labor reports, craft qualifications, takeoffs, and materials management.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of construction management or related experience and a current driver’s license.
• Electrical circuitry qualification or ability to qualify; electrician apprenticeship or journeyman/master experience is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects, use Microsoft Office and project/web applications, and travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $95,700–$129,200, with location-based increases in certain markets, and the role is eligible for an incentive plan. Benefits include medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage, a 401(k) match, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and a gym discount.
