Job Summary

Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is hiring an entry-level Building Electrical Engineer for its architecture and engineering group in Lenexa, Kansas. The role supports electrical design work while developing technical capabilities, department standards, and project delivery skills.

Project Details

The engineering group delivers EPC and design-build services across industrial, energy, water, advanced technology, mining, process, and building markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop building lighting, power, distribution, telecommunications, and security designs.
• Create Revit models and drawings or coordinate deliverables with BIM personnel.
• Perform lighting, electrical load, short-circuit, voltage-drop, and energy-code calculations.
• Review bids and shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction punch-list activities.
• Coordinate with internal and external engineering disciplines and help improve department standards and tools.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• Zero to two years of industry experience and familiarity with building electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Revit and Microsoft Office; lighting design software and Bluebeam experience is a plus.
• A GPA above 3.0 and a passed FE exam are preferred or advantageous.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and safe-work practices are required.
