Job Summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is hiring an early-career Civil Engineer for its Lenexa office. The role supports civil design, technical documentation, engineering standards, and project delivery within a multidisciplinary power engineering group.

Project Details

The team delivers engineering and EPC support for gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental upgrades, renewable and emerging technologies, and water/wastewater facilities across North America.

Responsibilities

• Support site development evaluations, civil design calculations, layouts, research, and technical documentation.
• Review drawings and design documents against departmental standards and applicable engineering codes.
• Coordinate with civil designers, construction partners, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, staffing, budgeting, design quality, and process improvements.
• Use civil engineering and computer-aided drafting software to develop and review project deliverables.
• Provide technical input, support business needs, and help develop less-experienced team members.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year program.
• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 and an Engineering in Training license are preferred.
• Knowledge of basic spreadsheet, database, word-processing, and computer applications.
• Experience with computer-assisted engineering and design software; AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GeoPak, or drainage calculation software is preferred.
• Reliable attendance, professional communication, deadline management, and safe work practices are required.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
