Job Summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking an early-career civil or transmission line engineer to support power delivery design and EPC projects from its Lenexa, Kansas office. The role offers opportunities to develop technical expertise while contributing to company standards, design tools, and project delivery.

Project Details

The team supports substation, transmission, and distribution projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV for clients across the country, including power delivery, generation, renewables, environmental retrofits, and water-related work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to define scope, prepare design deliverables, and communicate project updates.
• Create transmission line design criteria and develop models using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS TOWER.
• Prepare construction assembly drawings, material specifications, structure loading packages, plan and profile drawings, phasing plans, and installation specifications.
• Support internal and external meetings and travel briefly to project locations when needed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Entry-level experience, ideally up to two years in transmission, civil, or related engineering work.
• Familiarity with overhead transmission routing, structure spotting, line design, lattice tower analysis, and foundation design is preferred.
• Working knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS TOWER, FAD Tools, LPILE, NESC, and applicable ASCE, IEEE, and regional standards is preferred.
• Reliable attendance, effective communication, safe work practices, and the ability to meet deadlines are required.
