Civil Foreman

Job Summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Civil Foreman to lead field crews and coordinate daily work on heavy civil construction projects.

Project Details

The initial project is in Grand Forks, Minnesota, with work on highways, roadways, and other heavy civil infrastructure. Later project assignments may be located nationally.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crews, promote safe work practices, and oversee excavation activities.
• Review plans and specifications, apply survey and grade staking, and coordinate daily production with project management.
• Complete daily foreman reports and review and submit crew timecards.
• Address field issues and communicate with superintendents, project engineers, and other team members.

Required Experience

• Foreman or supervisory experience in heavy highway or civil construction.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards, safe construction practices, heavy equipment, tools, and construction plans.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varied weather and perform the physical demands of a construction site.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Working Conditions

• Work takes place on active construction sites with exposure to weather, traffic, heavy equipment, and other job-site hazards.
• Schedules may include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Personal protective equipment is required at job sites.
