Civil Superintendent - South Central

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field operations for heavy civil and highway construction projects in its South Central District. The superintendent will direct crews, subcontractors, equipment, and resources while maintaining safe, productive, specification-compliant work.

Project Details

The district delivers infrastructure work including grading, excavation, trenching, bridge construction, concrete, and asphalt paving. The home office is in Westlake, Texas, with projects throughout the South Central region and other parts of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily field activities, schedules, workforce assignments, equipment, and material deliveries.
• Lead safety compliance under Kiewit's Zero Harm program.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Track progress, quality, and productivity and address performance issues.
• Maintain daily reports, timecards, inventory records, and other project documentation.
• Coach and develop field personnel.

Required Experience

• High school diploma required; a construction management or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least five years of heavy civil construction experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and bridge construction.
• Ability to lead crews, manage subcontractors, communicate effectively, and work safely.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime and weekends as project demands require.
