Concrete Superintendent - Eastern District

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Concrete Superintendent to lead self-perform concrete operations for major heavy civil, industrial, power, and vertical construction projects. This field leadership role oversees crews, coordinates concrete activities, and drives safe, efficient, high-quality execution.

Project Details

The Eastern District delivers bridge, transit, foundation, tunnel, water and wastewater, energy, and power projects across the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast. Work may involve formwork, rebar, embeds, concrete placement, finishing, curing, structural steel, earthwork, pile driving, and caissons.

Responsibilities

• Direct general foremen, foremen, and craft workers performing concrete work while managing productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance.
• Plan pours, sequencing, look-ahead schedules, formwork, rebar, embeds, placement, finishing, and curing activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, subcontractors, suppliers, testing laboratories, equipment teams, and project leadership.
• Lead safety briefings, hazard analyses, and crew meetings while reinforcing Kiewit's safety culture and OSHA compliance.
• Maintain daily records covering manpower, equipment, quantities, and progress.
• Resolve workforce and scheduling issues and ensure materials are delivered, staged, and installed correctly.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of concrete supervision experience on heavy civil, industrial, or power projects.
• Heavy civil construction experience and the ability to lead craft workers in a self-perform environment.
• Strong knowledge of formwork systems such as Peri, Doka, and EFCO, along with rebar installation and concrete placement.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and lift plans, with knowledge of scheduling, cost control, safety regulations, union agreements, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Experience with Kiewit or comparable large-scale EPC, heavy civil, or industrial projects is preferred.
• ACI certifications, OSHA 30, or equivalent qualifications.
• Strong communication, leadership, organization, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.

Compensation and Benefits
