Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a traveling Concrete Superintendent to oversee field operations for self-performed concrete work on heavy civil and transportation projects. The role is based near Phoenix and offers assignments on complex infrastructure work across the country.

Project Details

The Southwest District delivers highways, bridges, runways, terminals, transit systems, water treatment facilities, dams, canals, wastewater plants, tunnels, and power projects across Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and additional states.

Responsibilities

  • Direct craft activities through foremen while managing productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Coordinate field engineering, subcontractors, other superintendents, project staff, and company leadership.
  • Review drawings and specifications for construction compliance.
  • Support scheduling, workforce planning, material quantities, and equipment needs.
  • Address employee conflicts and scheduling issues and enforce project procedures and safety standards.

Required Experience

  • At least five years overseeing self-performed concrete work in heavy civil construction.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction operations, union agreements, jurisdictional matters, safety requirements, scheduling, cost control, and engineering documents.
  • Proven ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • Strong communication, organization, initiative, ethics, and safety leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel, work at varying locations, and work overtime or weekends when required.
