Construction Manager - Bowen

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Construction Manager to lead field construction activities for the Bowen project in Cartersville, Georgia. The role coordinates site execution with the Project Field Manager and oversees safety, schedule, cost, quality, subcontractor performance, and construction completion.

Project Details

The position supports a conventional power project and requires mobilization to the site for the duration of the project. Experience with union or union-management construction environments and power generation projects is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct on-site subcontractor activities and enforce schedule, contract, safety, quality, and construction execution requirements.
• Supervise, mentor, and coordinate superintendents and other construction personnel.
• Track productivity, schedule performance, costs, equipment, overtime, materials, change requests, backcharges, and payment documentation.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, schedule recovery efforts, completion walkdowns, punch-list closeout, and startup handoffs.
• Coordinate with project controls, engineering, materials, safety, quality, startup, and client representatives.
• Serve as the site safety representative when the regular Safety Supervisor is unavailable and resolve field safety and quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement, change management, reporting, construction equipment budgeting, and project closeout.

Required Experience

• Four-year degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant field experience.
• At least 14 years of construction supervisory experience, including three or more years as a Construction Manager.
• OSHA training is required.
• Knowledge of power-generation technologies, EPC delivery, constructability, project controls, risk management, construction management systems, and subcontract administration is preferred.
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments, including elevated, confined, uneven, hot, cold, and outdoor areas.
• Ability to work shifts of up to 12 hours and lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
