Construction Manager - Wansley

Job Summary

Overland Contracting, a Black & Veatch company, is seeking a Construction Manager to coordinate field construction for the Wansley project in Carrollton, Georgia. The role leads site execution in partnership with the Project Field Manager and supports safe, timely, cost-effective, and quality-focused delivery.

Project Details

This is a conventional power construction project requiring mobilization to the Carrollton site for the duration of the work. Orientation will take place in Overland Park, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractor activities, construction schedules, execution planning, productivity tracking, and schedule recovery efforts.
• Supervise and mentor superintendents while coordinating weekly subcontractor meetings and construction reporting.
• Manage completion walkdowns, startup handovers, punch-list closeout, material acceptance, equipment use, and change-related tracking.
• Support client coordination, engineering deliverables, manufacturer service technicians, construction budgets, and equipment costs.
• Address safety and quality matters, serve as the site safety representative when needed, and stand in for the Project Field Manager when required.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and help implement resulting changes across the construction team.

Required Experience

• 14 or more years of construction supervisory experience, including at least 3 years as a construction manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, with relevant field experience also considered.
• OSHA training is required.
• Experience with conventional power construction, EPC delivery, project controls, constructability, risk management, and construction management systems is preferred.
• Must be able to work safely around heavy equipment, elevated structures, confined areas, uneven terrain, and changing weather conditions.
