District Buildings Systems Manager

Job Summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a District Buildings Systems Manager in Minneapolis to oversee building systems delivery, contractual performance, and technical coordination across multiple construction projects. The role supports project quality, schedule, cost, and stakeholder relationships while leading building systems personnel.

Project Details

The position supports PCL’s Minneapolis district and its infrastructure-focused construction portfolio, with responsibility for mechanical, electrical, controls, and related building systems.

Responsibilities

• Review building systems trade progress for compliance with design documents, quality requirements, schedules, and constructability.
• Manage subcontract obligations, identify project risks, and coordinate contract administration.
• Evaluate and negotiate building systems changes, including cost, budget, scope, forecast, and schedule effects.
• Coordinate utility providers and resolve installation or service challenges.
• Supervise, coach, train, and mentor building systems staff.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues, disputes, and project concerns.
• Maintain customer relationships and share building systems best practices across the organization.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related trades or postsecondary education in mechanical, electrical, controls, or a similar discipline preferred.
• 12 to 15 years of progressively responsible construction experience, including building systems management.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering systems, construction practices, building codes, and applicable construction law.
• Strong understanding of change management, pricing, scheduling, contractual obligations, and trade installation priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication and solution-presentation skills.

Compensation and Benefits
