Job Summary

Kiewit Power Constructors is seeking an Electrical Field Engineer to serve as the electrical engineering lead on EPC power projects. The role combines field leadership, planning, contract administration, cost tracking, safety coordination, and quality oversight.

Project Details

Projects support power generation and renewable energy construction across North America, including gas- and coal-fired facilities, coal retrofits, and solar work. The position is based in Lenexa, Kansas and operates with a union craft workforce.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, proposals, and material requirements while supporting estimates and pre-bid investigations.
• Interpret electrical plans for field crews and craft supervision and calculate installed quantities and progress.
• Develop work plans, work packages, and job hazard analyses.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, materials, equipment, scheduling, quality control, safety programs, and cost reporting.
• Work with superintendents, field engineers, and craft teams while mentoring electrical and field engineering staff.

Required Experience

• Degree in construction management or a related field.
• At least three years of electrical construction experience.
• Understanding of construction safety, federal requirements, OSHA requirements, the National Electrical Code, scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Microsoft Office experience; familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log, or Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to access all areas of a construction site, work in varied climates, travel or relocate, and work overtime or weekends when required.
