Electrical Pre Construction Manager

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a senior Electrical Pre-Construction Manager to lead electrical scopes for large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. The position begins in Lenexa, Kansas, with potential transition to project sites across North America.

Project Details

The role supports industrial data center construction and commissioning, including high-reliability power distribution, UPS systems, generators, grounding, switchgear, and redundant electrical infrastructure. Electrical scopes may exceed $10 million.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical work from preconstruction handoff through project support and commissioning.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, procurement plans, and schedules for electrical systems.
• Coordinate design teams, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage code, quality, safety, client-standard, and mission-critical compliance requirements.
• Identify electrical-scope risks involving redundancy and uptime, and develop mitigations.
• Lead and mentor electrical engineers, field supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Act as the primary electrical-scope contact for clients and consultants.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least seven years of electrical construction project management experience, preferably with data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
• Experience managing large-scale electrical scopes of $10 million or more.
• Knowledge of power distribution, UPS systems, generators, grounding, and redundancy design.
• Familiarity with BIM, Primavera P6 or MS Project, and cost-control tools.
• OSHA 30 required; PMP or equivalent preferred.
