Electrical Superintendent - Home Office

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to support construction execution from its Overland Park home office or a regional office, with assignments at project sites as needed. The role leads electrical field supervision, productivity, safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor coordination.

Project Details

Work supports the company’s construction backlog across power, water, grid, and industrial markets. Office-based employees generally work 40 hours per week, while project assignments typically follow a 5/10 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical craft supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and field engineers.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, cost, installed quantities, and CPM schedule compliance.
• Develop three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, work packages, and job hazard analyses.
• Lead planning meetings, resolve drawing and field issues, and coordinate work with other disciplines.
• Verify labor, materials, equipment, and other resources are available for planned work.
• Review timesheets, progress reports, punch lists, payment requests, and supplier field records.
• Support contract administration, extra-work authorizations, change recovery, and subcontractor performance management.
• Supervise, train, develop, and manage direct reports, including general foremen and foremen.

Required Experience

• At least 11 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on comparable projects.
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Construction management or engineering education and union labor-management experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety, union agreements, cost control, scheduling, contract administration, productivity systems, and project management is preferred.
• Ability to work in active construction environments, including outdoor conditions, confined areas, elevated work areas, and shifts of up to 12 hours.
