Energy Storage-Traveling Project Engineer I (NM)

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a traveling Project Engineer I to support its energy storage work. The role coordinates field issues and project documentation with project teams and participants.

Project Details

Work is within the Energy Storage group. The full-time traveler may be based in California, Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah, Ohio, or Colorado, with placement determined by candidate preference and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications for subcontractors and craft workers, and support the project quality plan.
• Manage permits, project records, contract documents, RFIs, change orders, submittals, inspections, testing, and closeout documentation.
• Track schedule progress, coordinate safety and compliance, and communicate quality issues to project leadership.
• Support subcontractor coordination and mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management.
• At least two years of related construction experience.
• Current driver’s license, strong organization and communication skills, and a basic understanding of construction law and business practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $84,100–$113,500, with location-based adjustments for certain offices. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
