Engineering Project Manager - Industrial Design

Job Summary

Kiewit is hiring a senior Engineering Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary design and engineering execution for complex industrial projects, coordinating technical work from concept through construction administration and commissioning.

Project Details

The Industrial and Water Engineering group delivers EPC and design-build work across data centers, semiconductor and EV battery facilities, food and beverage, water and wastewater, mining and metals, renewable fuels, industrial energy, and other heavy industrial markets. The preferred office locations are Lenexa, Kansas; Fort Worth, Texas; and Lone Tree, Colorado. Remote arrangements may be considered for experienced candidates near other major Kiewit offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, civil, and related disciplines.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, clients, vendors, and external partners while resolving technical issues.
• Direct development, review, and approval of drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
• Manage design planning, constructability reviews, engineering budgets, forecasts, progress reporting, and changes.
• Support estimating, proposals, project pursuits, and integration of design with construction delivery.
• Promote safe, high-quality, efficient, and continuously improving engineering practices.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering such as mechanical, electrical, civil, or chemical engineering.
• At least 5 years of industrial engineering design experience on design-build, progressive design-build, or EPC projects.
• At least 2 years leading industrial projects and demonstrated experience managing engineering teams and deliverables through construction administration.
• Experience integrating design development with construction on large, complex industrial projects.
• Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable attendance, safe work practices, and willingness to work overtime or weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits
