Entry-Level Field Engineer - Heavy Civil Construction

Job Summary

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini company, is hiring an entry-level Field Engineer for its heavy civil construction team in White Plains, New York.

Project Details

The engineer will support a roughly $1.1 billion deep rock tunnel project connecting Kensico Reservoir with the Catskill/Delaware UV disinfection facility in Westchester County. The tunnel will add capacity and improve resilience in New York City's water supply system.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and help develop schedules, work plans, and preconstruction packages.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, material procurement, quotes, contracts, and preconstruction meetings.
• Monitor field work, check layout and technical compliance, and coordinate with design engineers as needed.
• Support subcontract administration, submittals, RFIs, payment records, progress reporting, schedule updates, and issue resolution.
• Assist with change orders, claims, quality checks, permitting, and project closeout.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Heavy civil construction experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.
• Knowledge of construction safety, applicable federal and OSHA requirements, project controls, cost accounting, estimating, forecasting, contracts, critical path scheduling, and resource scheduling.
• Strong organizational, communication, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $80,000-$110,000, depending on experience.
