Experienced Field Engineer-Structured Cabling

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring an Experienced Field Engineer for its Structured Cabling Group. This role supports field coordination from preconstruction through closeout and travels to assigned project locations on a rotational schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, design documents, project mobilization, and subcontractor arrangements.
• Support construction quality, material receiving and inventory, inspections, coordination drawings, equipment management, and production tracking.
• Organize project turnover documentation, support final inspections and punch lists, and help close contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Participate in safety audits, maintain project timelines, and help identify alternative work methods.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or a related science or mathematics field; equivalent education and substantial technical or field experience may also qualify.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel 100% on a rotational basis.
• Strong organization, communication, teamwork, initiative, problem-solving, and customer service skills; basic knowledge of construction law and business practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $78,800–$98,500, with higher ranges for certain office locations.
