Fiberoptic Superintendent Electrical Construction

Job Summary

Lead field delivery for fiber optic construction projects with Mass. Electric Construction Co., overseeing crews and partners from installation through testing, commissioning, and maintenance.

Project Details

Work may be based in Boston, Massachusetts, or Virginia Beach, Virginia, and includes telecommunications construction performed in industrial project environments.

Responsibilities

• Direct fiber optic installation, splicing, termination, testing, certification, and commissioning activities.
• Supervise foremen, splicers, technicians, craft employees, subcontractors, and field crews.
• Plan near- and long-term work, track production, and address schedule impacts.
• Coordinate with utility owners, inspectors, clients, contractors, engineering, and project management teams.
• Lead safety meetings, hazard analyses, inspections, training, and corrective actions.
• Work extended hours, overtime, and weekends when project conditions require.

Required Experience

• At least 7 years of telecommunications or fiber optic construction experience.
• At least 3 years supervising field construction crews.
• Knowledge of underground and aerial installation, conduit and duct banks, fiber pulling, splicing, termination, and telecommunications standards.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and use OTDR testing and fiber certification processes.
• Reliable attendance, effective communication, safe work practices, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary of $145,000-$155,000 per year, with medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life insurance, disability, retirement matching, and paid time off benefits for eligible full-time employees.
