Field Engineer

Job Summary

Tutor Perini is hiring a Field Engineer to support construction delivery at its Newark AirTrain project at Newark International Airport.

Project Details

The position supports an airport transit infrastructure project. Structural steel fabrication and erection experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support project management and field supervisors with daily operations, subcontractor coordination, schedule tracking, and material procurement.
• Review drawings and contract documents, track quantities and costs, and maintain field and production reports.
• Coordinate inspections, manage RFIs and submittals, support quality control, and assist with surveying and layout.
• Document meetings, raise project concerns, and promote site safety programs.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, construction engineering technology, or a related field.
• At least three years of construction experience on heavy civil, bridge, transportation, utility, or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, with experience at a civil infrastructure or heavy civil contractor.
• Knowledge of AISC standards and structural steel construction practices; steel fabrication and erection experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or BIM platforms; MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with bridge, transit, rail, airport, marine, or tunnel projects. EIT certification or progress toward a PE license is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $90,000 to $135,000, depending on experience.
