Field Engineer

Job Summary

Tutor Perini is hiring a Field Engineer to support field planning, coordination, and execution on its Midtown Bus Terminal project in New York City.

Project Details

Work supports civil construction for a bus terminal and includes coordination with subcontractors, transit agencies, utilities, and public authorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work plans, safe work plans, engineering drawings, and shop drawings, coordinating them with subcontractors.
• Assist the Superintendent with daily field operations, work planning, construction sequencing, and schedule milestones.
• Review drawings and RFIs, track installed quantities, and maintain reports, inspection logs, submittals, and as-built records.
• Monitor quality and safety, participate in inspections, coordinate with project stakeholders, and support project closeout.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least five years of civil construction experience; field or internship experience is acceptable.
• Knowledge of civil/site construction, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and paving, and ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; AutoCAD/Civil 3D or field layout software experience is preferred.
• Transportation infrastructure and public agency experience, familiarity with surveying equipment, and knowledge of civil inspection and testing requirements are relevant.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected annual salary range is $120,000-$160,000, depending on experience.
