Project Engineer - Structural Steel

Job Summary

Tutor Perini Civil-East is hiring a Structural Steel Project Engineer for its New Rochelle office to support safe, high-quality project delivery from planning through closeout.

Project Details

The role supports structural steel work within a civil construction business focused on infrastructure, including bridges and other complex public works.

Responsibilities

• Support project safety, quality, productivity, schedule, and cost management.
• Prepare RFIs, work plans, submittals, and time-and-material pricing submissions.
• Help develop and maintain CPM schedules, track quantities and costs, and keep as-built drawings current.
• Coordinate with project teams, owners, designers, architects, engineers, fabricators, subcontractors, and field staff on project issues and execution.
• Communicate contract scope and assist project managers and superintendents with assigned work.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent field from an accredited institution.
• At least eight years of experience in structural steel erection, heavy civil construction, bridges, vertical construction, or other steel structures.
• Experience coordinating with fabricators, subcontractors, owners, and design and construction engineers to resolve design, procurement, constructability, and means-and-methods issues.
• Ability to coordinate contract, design, and shop drawings and track costs through project completion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The stated salary range is $125,000 to $175,000, depending on experience.
