Field Engineer

Job Summary

Rudolph & Sletten, a Tutor Perini company, is hiring a Field Engineer for its Menlo Park office. This field-focused role supports construction execution, quality, documentation, and coordination with project teams.

Project Details

The company delivers large California projects, including healthcare, higher education, corporate campus, justice, and science and technology facilities.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents and verify layout, installations, and completed work against project requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, field leaders, and quality teams to resolve scope conflicts and quality concerns.
• Maintain RFIs, design change requests, as-builts, reports, punch lists, sketches, and quantity records.
• Assist with takeoffs, scheduling, logistics, productivity tracking, value engineering, and potential change orders.
• Support quality control, document site conditions, participate in job walks, and help address safety and environmental issues.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, or four years of construction management experience.
• At least two years of field-based Project Engineer experience.
• Large commercial project experience is preferred.
• Ability to interpret plans, communicate across project teams, manage competing priorities, and work at project sites.
• Intermediate Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook skills; familiarity with AutoCAD and scheduling, estimating, and cost software.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected annual salary range is $95,000-$115,000, depending on experience.
