Field Engineer

Job Summary

Tutor Perini is hiring a Field Engineer for its Los Angeles office to support heavy civil construction and help ensure field work meets design, contract, and quality requirements.

Project Details

The role supports heavy civil work, with utility, underground, and concrete structures experience preferred. Tutor Perini delivers major infrastructure projects across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Interpret contract documents, plans, specifications, and standards, and help resolve field design conflicts.
• Coordinate schedules, preconstruction planning, work plans, RFIs, submittals, and communication among project teams and agencies.
• Support field execution through layout checks, technical reviews, site verification, and coordination with construction management and subcontractors.
• Maintain as-built records and daily documentation, and contribute to progress, schedule, and issue reporting.
• Promote safe, clean, and productive work practices and address changing site conditions.

Required Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Five to seven years of heavy civil construction experience.
• Working knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment, standards, and procedures.
• Utility, underground, or concrete structures construction experience is preferred.
• Strong safety and quality awareness, organization, communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and with a team.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $100,000-$120,000, depending on experience.
