Field Engineer III

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring a Field Engineer III to provide onsite engineering leadership and connect construction teams, engineering groups, and clients on complex projects.

Project Details

Assignments support industrial and commercial projects across the United States. Engineers typically remain with one project for its lifecycle, often 8 months to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical issues in the field, review electrical designs, and verify installations.
• Coordinate with clients, construction teams, vendors, and engineering partners.
• Lead smaller projects, mentor team members, and support proposals and estimating.
• Review specifications, prepare RFIs, assist with BIM coordination, and document as-built conditions.
• Represent the owner and help ensure project expectations are met.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of construction, field engineering, or related engineering experience preferred.
• PE license, or the qualifications and interest to pursue licensure.
• Knowledge of construction execution and ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering or project management software.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $95,000–$130,000, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
