Field Engineer III

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring a Field Engineer III to provide technical leadership onsite, connecting engineering, construction teams, and clients on complex projects.

Project Details

Assignments support large-scale industrial and commercial work across the United States. Engineers typically remain on one project from startup through completion, with assignments lasting about 8 months to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical questions from field teams and clients, review electrical designs, and verify installation work.
• Coordinate between engineering, construction, clients, vendors, and partner firms; lead small projects across disciplines.
• Mentor team members, support proposals and estimating reviews, and prepare RFIs.
• Represent owner expectations and assist with 3D/BIM coordination and as-built documentation.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or a related discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of construction, field engineering, or related experience preferred.
• PE license or qualifications and interest in pursuing licensure preferred.
• Knowledge of construction execution, electrical drawings and specifications, and field coordination.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail; proficiency with Excel and engineering or project management software.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $95,000–$130,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
