Field Engineer III

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring a Field Engineer III to provide onsite technical leadership and connect engineering, construction teams, and clients on complex projects.

Project Details

The role supports industrial and commercial projects across the United States. Engineers generally remain with one project through its lifecycle, with assignments commonly lasting 8 months to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Resolve field and client technical issues, review electrical designs, and verify construction installations.
• Coordinate between engineering, construction, clients, vendors, and partner firms.
• Lead smaller projects, mentor team members, and represent the owner in confirming project expectations.
• Assist with proposals, estimating reviews, specifications, and RFIs.
• Support BIM coordination and document as-built conditions.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of construction, field engineering, or related engineering experience preferred.
• PE license or qualifications and interest in pursuing licensure.
• Knowledge of construction execution and ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering or project management software.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $95,000–$130,000, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
