Field Engineer III

Job Summary

Interstates is seeking a Field Engineer III to provide onsite technical leadership and connect engineering, construction teams, and clients on complex projects.

Project Details

Assignments support industrial and commercial projects nationwide. Engineers typically remain with one project for its lifecycle, with assignments generally lasting 8 months to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical issues at active jobsites and review electrical designs and installations.
• Coordinate between engineering, construction, clients, vendors, and partner firms.
• Lead small projects, mentor team members, and represent the owner's interests onsite.
• Support proposals and estimating, review specifications, prepare RFIs, coordinate 3D/BIM models, and document as-built conditions.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of construction, field engineering, or related engineering experience preferred.
• PE license or the qualifications and interest to pursue licensure.
• Knowledge of construction processes, field coordination, electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering or project management software.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $95,000-$130,000, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
