Field Engineer III

Job Summary

Interstates is seeking a Field Engineer III to provide technical leadership at active construction sites, connecting engineering, construction teams, clients, and vendors on complex projects.

Project Details

The role supports industrial and commercial projects across the United States. Assignments typically last 8 months to 2 years, allowing engineers to support a project through its lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Address technical field and client issues, review electrical designs, and verify construction installations.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, clients, vendors, and partner firms; maintain client relationships.
• Lead smaller projects, coordinate multiple engineering disciplines, and mentor team members.
• Support proposals, estimating reviews, RFIs, BIM coordination, and as-built documentation.
• Represent the owner’s interests and help ensure project expectations are met.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or a related discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of construction, field engineering, or related engineering experience preferred.
• PE license, or the qualifications and interest to pursue licensure.
• Construction and field coordination knowledge, ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering or project management software.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $95,000–$130,000, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
