Field Engineer III

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring a Field Engineer III to provide technical leadership at construction sites and connect engineering, construction teams, and clients on complex projects.

Project Details

Work spans industrial and commercial projects across the United States. Engineers typically remain with one project through its lifecycle, with assignments lasting about 8 months to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical questions in the field and review electrical designs and installations.
• Coordinate between engineering, construction teams, clients, vendors, and partner firms.
• Lead smaller projects, mentor team members, and represent the owner in checking project expectations.
• Assist with proposals, estimating specification reviews, RFIs, BIM coordination, and as-built documentation.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.
• At least five years of construction, field engineering, or related engineering experience; equivalent education and experience combinations may be considered.
• Professional Engineer license, or qualifications and interest in pursuing licensure.
• Knowledge of construction processes, electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering or project management software.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $95,000-$130,000, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
