Field Engineer - Kiewit Power Constructors 1

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Constructors is seeking a mid-level Field Engineer II to lead engineering activities on power construction projects, coordinate field and office engineers, and support project management from various jobsite locations.

Project Details

The Power Constructors district delivers direct-hire construction for major power generation and solar projects across North America using a union craft workforce. Assignments may require relocation as project needs change.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction documents, calculate quantities, support surveying, prepare work packages, and maintain as-built information.
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, material deliveries, schedules, and field operations.
• Participate in jobsite safety activities, prepare hazard analyses, and promote safe work practices.
• Support submittals, purchase orders, subcontracts, RFIs, daily reports, cost tracking, change orders, and project correspondence.
• Assist with estimates, production and cost analysis, bid reviews, and material takeoffs.
• Lead and provide direction to field and office engineering staff while advising project management on project issues.

Required Experience

• At least three years of construction field experience and experience leading engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, initiative, ethics, and attention to detail.
• Ability to access active construction sites in varied environments and work overtime or weekends when required.
• Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
